While working as a designer specialising in sustainability, my main responsibility was concretising the corporate level sustainability strategy in the Netum design team every day tasks. This entailed researching different ways of incorporating sustainable UX into workflows, gathering guides for low carbon UI design and reflecting my findings to the realistic working conditions of the team and the public sector projects.
My research was conducted in tandem with other departments, most prominently strategy and data. This was to prevent information silos and to find new possibilities for collaboration between different departments. As part of this effort, I held several educational presentations internally and took part in developing materials on sustainability for the sales team.
I also developed and facilitated 3 x 1h educational sessions for the team with our Business Design Lead. The themes of the sessions were "Sustainability in ICT", "Incorporating Sustainability into Service Design" and "Practical applications of Sustainable UX and UI design Elements". These sessions were tailored to the teams needs and included tips on UI and image optimisation, humanity centered design thinking and ways to push for sustainability in projects. The sessions were met with enthusiasm and received praise in their clear, hands-on approach.
